Ruth V. (Murphy) Weigel

January 7, 1922-September 25, 2012

South Bend-Ruth V. (Murphy) Weigel, 90, passed away on Tuesday, September 25 in Hospice House, South Bend.

Ruth was born on January 7, 1922 in Williamstown, MA to the late Andrew J. and Celia E. (Boughton) Daniels. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Frederick Daniels

On June 29, 1940 as Ruth V. Daniels, she married Randall J. Murphy and they made their loving home in Mishawaka. They were together for 45 years. He preceded her in death in April 1985. Then on June 20, 1986 she married Donald J. Weigel, who made their home together in Wyatt and wintered in Seabring, FL. He preceded her in death on April 15, 2007.

Surviving are her children, Randall (Mary) Murphy of Osceola, Robert (Kathy) Murphy of Granger, Ruth Ann Murphy of Mishawaka and a step daughter, Nancy Sunderwith of Phoenix, AZ; grandchildren, Randy (Lisa) Murphy, Russell (Erin) Murphy, Tracy Murphy, Tami Boswell, Brian Zbrzezny, Jill Ann (Mark) Norton and Eric (Kate) Zbrzezny; two step grandchildren, Stephen (Elizabeth)Jenks and Jennifer (Jeffrey) Lemaster; 11 great grandchildren; seven step great grandchildren; one great, great grandchild and a sister, Winifred Faber of MA.

Ruth was a member of the Dancing Firelighters (Square Dancers) and the Elks Lodge in Seabring, FL. She was a Michiana area resident who wintered in Texas and Florida.

Visitation will be on Thursday, September 27, from 4 to 7 p.m. in Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street, Mishawaka. Funeral services will be on Friday, September 28 at 11:00, with visitation one hour prior, in the funeral home with Rev. Terry Fisher officiating. Burial will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Park, Osceola.
