Dorothy A. Melville

Dorothy A. Melville, 100 years old, passed away the evening of Sunday, April 21, 2024 in Granger, Indiana. She was born on December 8, 1923 in Fulton County, Indiana to the late Roy and Geneva Gottschalk Davis. She was married on October 11, 1952 to William H. Melville, who passed away on January 26, 1971.

She was preceded in death by a stepdaughter, Janet Wells; three sisters; and six brothers.

She is survived by two sons, James (Judy) Melville of Granger and William (Tracy Berger) Melville of Warsaw, Indiana; four grandsons, Matthew (Sara) Melville of South Bend, Michael (Amanda) Melville of Connersville, Indiana, and Samuel and Jack Melville of Warsaw, Indiana; three great-grandchildren, Sophia of South Bend, Maxwell of Connersville, and Connor of Warsaw; as well as many nieces, nephews, and close friends.

Dorothy retired from Uniroyal after 34 years. She was a very talented seamstress and enjoyed needlepoint. She was also an excellent baker, and her pies will be dearly missed - especially by her grandchildren.

We would like to especially thank Creekside Village and Heart to Heart Hospice for the compassionate, attentive, kind, and caring staff that supported her and her family.

A public visitation will be held on Thursday, April 25, 2024 from 4pm – 6pm at Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W 8th Street, Mishawaka, IN 46544. A graveside service will be held at 2pm on Friday, April 26, 2024 at Saint Joseph Valley Memorial Park, where she will be laid to rest.
