C’Ella M. Williams

          Mishawaka-C’Ella M. Williams, 82, passed away on Sunday, May 12, 2019 at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, Mishawaka.     

          C’Ella was born on April 25, 1937 in Grand Rapids, MI to Franklin and Dorothy (Sperman) O’Neil. She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Arthur O’Neil, Donald O’Neil and Arnold O’Neil.

          Surviving are her son, Craig Williams of South Bend and grandchildren, Charmaine Charrier and Kianna Slone.

She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Western Michigan University and her Masters from Michigan State University.

          C’Ella was a Teacher for 32 years for the Oak Park, IL Public School System, where she was one of the first African-American teachers to be employed.    She loved to work with children and continued to well after her retirement. 

            C’Ella was simply an amazing mother, educator and friend and will be missed by many.              

          As per C’Ella’s wishes, there will be no visitation and no services.
