Mishawaka, IN-Adolph E. Rodts Jr., 76, passed away on Monday, January 4, 2021. He was born on April 7, 1944, to the late Adolph & Betty (Koppy) Rodts Sr. Junior was also preceded in death by wife, Linda (Cariker) Rodts in 1998 and step-daughter, Sharon Rice in 2018.
Junior attended St. Bavos Catholic School and is a 1964 Mishawaka High School graduate. Junior retired from Art Iron where he was employed as a welder. He enjoyed showing horses and at one time lead carriage rides in downtown South Bend, dressed in a top-hat and tux with tails. Junior loved NASCAR (Dale Jr. and NOT Jimmy Johnson) and owned a late model stock car as a participant in the local racing circuit. He enjoyed Belgian bowling at the BK Club every Wednesday and could always be counted on for a kind word, a warm hug, and a smile that said he was genuinely happy to see you. He will be missed by many friends in the local cafes he frequented for evenings of coffee and reminiscing.
Junior is survived by his loving partner, Roxie Rice; step-children, Tony Moore, Steve Bennett, Brian Bennett, Tammy Ray, Ginger (Dennis) Gibson, Bill (Jacquelyn) Rice and Michael (Traci) Rice; brother, Mike Rodts; and several grandchildren who will remember him fondly.
Per Junior’s wishes, a private family gathering will be held at Hahn Funeral Home and cremation has taken place.
