Alexander Nelund, 39, of South Bend, Indiana, died tragically in an accident on Thursday, June 19, 2025. He was a beloved son, brother, friend, and godfather.
Later in life, Alex discovered a passion for aviation mechanics and had recently completed his first year at Ivy Tech in Fort Wayne, earning a spot on the dean’s list for both semesters.
Alex enjoyed photography, both as a hobby and as a contract aerial drone photographer. He was a curious soul and an adventurer who loved to travel and spend time outdoors. You could often find him in his garage, working on his cars or motorcycles. He loved his friends and family dearly.
He had a remarkable ability to make friends wherever he went and always greeted others with a smile. Alex lived in the moment every single day and found great joy in lending a helping hand to anyone in need.
He is survived by his parents, Mark and Linda, and his siblings, Cory and Jessica. He was deeply loved and will be missed by all whose lives he touched.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, June 28, 2025, from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the BK Club, 721 S. West Street, Mishawaka, Indiana. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to your local food bank or the charity of your choice.
