Amy Nicole (Schelstraete) Norris

Amy N. Norris, 47, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, November 7, 2021.  Surviving are her parents, Joseph (Debbie) Schelstraete and Paula (Thomas P.) Baughman; husband, Eric; children, Parker and Skylar Norris; sisters, Jennifer (Mark) Doty, Kathleen Schelstraete and Michele (Tylor) Mazur; a brother, Eric (Heidi) Schelstraete; stepbrother, Tom A. Baughman; sister-in-law Heather (Ty) Fairbairn; stepsisters, Lindsay Goss and Jamie Yates; and many nieces and nephews.

Amy was born on February 9, 1974, to Joseph and Paula (Emmons) Schelstraete in Mishawaka, Indiana. She attended LaSalle and Mary Phillips Elementary, John Young Middle School, and Mishawaka High School.

Amy was a cheerleader from middle school through high school. In January 1990 she captured the heart of her lifelong love, Eric Norris. Amy graduated high school in 1992. She attended Indiana University South Bend and Ball State University. Amy, with Eric, moved to Hollywood, California where she worked full time as an Administrative Assistant. She returned to Mishawaka in 1996 where she married Eric.

At the end of 1999 Amy and Eric welcomed their first child, Parker, a 1 lb.13 oz baby boy. This gift of life called for a person with unlimited selfless love and strength. Amy accepted and mastered this role without hesitation.In 2001, they received their second gift of life, Skylar, a beautiful baby girl. Amy’s happiest and most enjoyable moments were caring for, developing, teaching, and loving her children and family. Amy cherished Parker and Skylar more than anything else. She considered them her proudest achievements. She also loved and found joy in her dogs, Zoe, Sienna, and her constant shadow Gizmo.

Amy will be remembered as the beautiful, radiant, full of life, sweet natured, generous dynamo that made everyone fall in love with her.

Visitation will be 2-6 pm, on Friday, November 12, 2021, at Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street, Mishawaka, IN 46544 with a service immediately following at 6 pm.
