Anthony Hirsch Obituary

Anthony Hirsch, a cherished soul whose rhythm in life was as steady as the beat of his drums, passed away peacefully on July 11, 2024, at the age of 81. Born on November 1, 1942, in Mishawaka, Indiana, to Joseph Hirsch and LoRayne (Allen) Hirsch, Anthony's life was a melody composed of love, family, and music, which resonated deeply within the community he never left.

Anthony married the love of his life, Marcia (Brackeveldt) Hirsch, on September 5, 1970, in South Bend, Indiana. Their bond was a testament to his loyalty and commitment, enriching their lives with love and shared memories.

Anthony's legacy is carried on through his devoted family, including his daughter Terri (Brian) Malcom, his sons Anthony R. Hirsch Jr. and Timothy Hirsch, and his beloved adopted niece Angie Burks. His life was further enriched by the joyous presence of many grandchildren. Anthony was a brother to Shelley (Greg) Zieman, and he held fond memories of his late sister Patricia Alford, survived by her husband Ray, as well as of his late brother Michael Hirsch, survived by his wife Rose.

For three decades, Anthony demonstrated his craftsmanship as a welder at AM General, where he was not only known for his skilled hands. He took pride in his work and formed lasting friendships with his colleagues.

As a drummer for many a local band for many years, Anthony's passion for music became a hallmark of his life, filling the air of countless venues with the vibrant pulse of his drumbeats. His love for nature and commitment to his local environment were evident through his active involvement with the Lakeville Conservation Club, where he dedicated time and effort to preserve the natural beauty of the region.

Anthony's home was also a sanctuary for his dearly loved cat, Lucky, who predeceased him. The pair shared a bond that transcended the usual pet-owner relationship, adding warmth and companionship to his home.

A private graveside service will be held for the immediate family. Hahn funeral home has been entrusted with making the final arrangements.
