Betty C. Moubray Ballard, 98, of Mishawaka passed away peacefully on Saturday May 10, 2025. Betty was born on June 25, 1926, in Mishawaka, Indiana, to the late Phillip C. Teegarden and Neva (Milliken). On January 22, 1949, in Coalbush United Methodist Church Betty married Harry Moubray, who preceded her in death. She later married Everett Ballard who also preceded her in death. Betty is survived by her daughter Carolyn ( Ken) Nemes, a step son Christopher Ballard, fifteen grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren, her sisters Doris Clark, and Ruth Gill. She was preceded in death by her son David Moubray, step sons Pat Ballard, Terry Ballard and Bill Ballard, along with her brother Philip Teegarden. Betty lived a rich life full of passion and dedication to family, church and friends.
Betty was employed by Uniroyal Corp. in Mishawaka as a cost accountant, for 36 years before her retirement. Her passion for photography was lifelong, from her part time business of Moubray Photos to in her final days taking photographs of all of her caregivers. Her photography with Moubray Photos supplied numerous pictures for the Mishawaka Enterprise, as well as, many wedding photo events. Betty and her late husband, Everett, were the former owners of Ballard Funeral Home in Mishawaka, where she served the community with empathy and grace. Coalbush church was a vital part of Betty’s life for which she had fond memories of teaching Sunday School, visits to church members no longer able to participate and hours of work in the history room with a dear friend, Nancy Darr.
Betty was able to live in her home for nearly 75 years with the assistance of the watchful eye and helpful hands of her amazing neighbors. Affectionately known as “techno Grandma”, Betty’s learning never waned as she embraced the use of computers and technology enabling her to keep in contact with others.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 14th from 4 to 7 in Hahn Funeral Home 505 W. 8th Street, Mishawaka. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday May 15th at 11:00 AM at Coalbush United Methodist Church, 15977 Jackson Road, Mishawaka. Burial will follow in Ferrisville Cemetery Mishawaka.
