Billy Raven Banks, 70, of Mishawaka passed away on Wednesday, October 18, 2023, in Memorial Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. Billy was born in Auxier, KY on December 11, 1952, to the late James and Shirley (Powers) Banks. He is preceded in death by his sister, Tina Bottorff and brother, Dan Banks. Billy is survived by his children, Jennifer (Nate) Cockey and Billy (Sara) Banks; 4 grandchildren, Chloe & Aubrey Banks and Brittanie & Megan Morrison; 4 great grandchildren, Kole Mortimore, Maci Morrison, Rhylan Moreland and Brantley Straughn; sister, Serita “Sis” (Donn) May; and brothers, Tom (Jean) Banks and James “Buzz” (Michelle) Banks.
Billy proudly served in the United States Army. He retired as the parts manager at Monaco Coach Corporation after 30 years.
God looked around his garden and found an empty place. He then looked down upon the earth and saw your tired face. He put His arms around you and lifted you to rest. God’s garden must be beautiful, He always takes the best.
The family will receive friends from 10 am-12 pm on Monday, October 23, 2023, at Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street, Mishawaka, IN. A funeral service will begin at 12 pm at the funeral home with Pastor Mike Cramer officiating. Billy will be laid to rest in Fairview Cemetery in Mishawaka.
Memorial contributions can be made in Billy’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
