Mishawaka, IN - Bradley J. Bogaert, 60, passed away suddenly on Saturday, June 26, 2021, doing what he loved best, performing on stage. Bradley was born April 30, 1961 to the late Maurice "Bogie" and Geraldine "Geri" (Golubski) Bogaert. He is preceded in death by his brother, Ricky Lee Bogaert. He is survived by his brother, Gregory (Nancy) Bogaert; companion, Cole "Ryder" Hirschy; and many nieces and nephews.
Bradley was a local legend in the LGBTQ community. His unprecedented drag career spanned 36 incredible, non-stop years. It included his local home bars, and so many others. Beginning at The Seahorse II Cabaret (1985-1997), Truman's Entertainment Complex (1998-2012), Jeannie's Tavern (2012-2019), and ending at R Bar (2019- 6/26/2021) where he was able to take the stage one final time. He was an eccentric performer and had such an amazing stage presence. He not only stole the show, but he stole everyone's hearts with his love and kindness. Once you knew him, you knew you had a friend for life. He made everyone feel welcome and ensured that they had a safe place to freely be themselves.
Friends may visit on Friday, July 2nd from 4-7pm at Hahn Funeral Home in Mishawaka. Services will follow immediately at 7 pm with Rev. Kevin Bauman officiating. There will be a celebration of life at R Bar in Mishawaka following the service.
