Carl Mayfield Obituary

Carl L. Mayfield, 70 years old, of Mishawaka, IN lost his battle with Parkinson’s disease the morning of Thursday, June 20, 2024. He was born on February 13, 1954, in Michigan City, IN to the late Ray and Ellen (Miller) Mayfield. On February 15, 1975, he married Debra (Mazzaia) Mayfield in Michigan City.

            Carl was preceded in death by his parents as well as three siblings, Ray Mayfield, John Mayfield, and Julie Fleck.

            He is survived by his wife as well as his daughters, Courtnee (Mayfield) Kleitz and Bethany Mayfield; his ensemble of grandsons, Tyler, Logan, Ryland, Ryan, Cole, and Jaxson; and his sister, Donna Williams.

            Carl was a member of Northside Church of Nazarene, Elkhart for many years. He was also the owner of Silks by Mr. C, a florist business, for 25 years before his retirement. He had a lifelong passion for music and used his talent by singing for events such as weddings, funerals, and church services. Above all, he loved spending time with his family, especially his grandsons. Carl was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and friend, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

            A public visitation will be held on Monday, June 24, 2024, from 5-7pm at Northside Church of Nazarene, 53569 Co Rd 7, Elkhart, IN 46514. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 25, 2024, at 11:00 am, also at the church, with one hour of visitation prior. A private burial will take place at Swan Lake Cemetery in Michigan City.
