Carolyn Rose Wade passed into rest on January 13, 2026.

Carol was born on February 21, 1947, to Clarence and Marjorie Alford in Merced, California.

After graduating from Monterey High School in 1965, Carol worked at Fort Ord, on the coast of Monterey Bay, where she met her first husband, Daryl True. Daryl’s work took them across the country for a decade before they settled down in San Jose to start their family. Divorced in 1977, Carol joined Parents Without Partners, where she met her second husband John Wade. They were married in 1980. Shortly thereafter the family moved to the Fairfield - Suisun area of California, where she worked for the City of Vacaville as a talented and well-liked accountant until her retirement in 1998.

After retirement, Carol and John moved to Dewey, AZ where they bought property and had a house built.

Carol loved her church community at Emmanuel Lutheran in Prescott Valley, her plants, crocheting, and traveling. She was also an avid sports fan, cheering for the San Francisco Giants and Arizona Diamondbacks in particular. After moving to Indiana, Carol rooted for the Chicago Cubs, who in 2025 were coached by Craig Counsell, a former World Series winner with the Diamondbacks. 

After retirement, Carol took up volunteering with Prescott People who Care and with Emmanuel Lutheran.

Carol spent the last year of her life with her children in Missouri (Sarah) and Indiana (Danika).

Carol is survived by her husband John; two children, Danika (Tina) and Sarah (Frank); her grandchildren Claire and James; and her brother Dennis.
