Cathy Michel

Cathleen “Cathy” Helen Woodward Michel, 65 years old, of South Bend, Indiana passed away the evening of Saturday, August 24, 2024 in Indianapolis. Cathy was born on July 7, 1959 in Seattle, Washington to Joel and Betty Woodward.

            Cathy was preceded in death by her loving father. 

            She is survived by her mother as well as her children, Matthew Michel, Taryn (John) Silva, Whitney (Joe) Dhaenens, Rachel (Michael) Michel, and Bryan Michel; many grandchildren; brothers Clarke, Tom, and Dave; and sisters Cher, Marie, Katie and partner Brandon Deka.

            Cathy had a caring heart and a passion for serving others. She worked in the hospitality industry for much of her life, including restaurant management. She then continued in serving others by working at Dismas House of Indiana and providing health care to seniors at their home. She was involved in various volunteer and charity work to help those in her community.  This exemplifies the selflessness and determination she carried with her throughout her life.

            In her spare time, Cathy loved gardening, traveling, and spending time with her family. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, partner, sister, and friend, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

            Cathy’s family will honor her with a private celebration of life at a later date. Contributions in Cathy’s memory may be made to St. Margarets House or Dismas House of Indiana.
