Charles R Van De Genahte

            Charles “Chuck”, 78, of Mishawaka passed away on October 7, 2024, with his family by his side.

            He was born March 18, 1946, in Mishawaka to Charles “Caesar” and Phyllis “Jean” (Hardesty) Van De Genahte.

            Chuck was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Sandra Kwiatkowski, of Mishawaka.

            Chuck was a lifelong resident of Mishawaka. He graduated from Mishawaka High School in 1963, and from Indiana College of Mortuary Science in 1966. He was employed locally for many years in the funeral business.

            Chuck is survived by his children, Robert (Barb) Van De Genahte, James (Christina) Van De Genahte, and Carla Jedrzejek, all of Mishawaka. He is also survived by seven grandchildren: Samantha (Tevin) Jones, Devin (Laura) Van De Genahte, Isaiah, Harmen and Greta Van De Genahte, Keegan Hood and Kullen Jedrzejek. His first great grandchild Penelope “Poppy” Jones was born in July 2024.

            Also surviving is his former wife and mother of his children Sandra (Dave) Wetzel, of Mishawaka.

            Per Chucks wishes no services will be held at this time. Hahn Funeral home has been entrusted with his final arrangements. Rest peacefully Dad. We love you!
