Christine M. (Stone) Papai

Christine M. Papai, 51, of South Bend passed away on Friday, November 3, 2023, in her home. Christine was born in South Bend on September 5, 1972, to Roger D. and Marie (Kretchmer) Stone. On February 25, 2003, she married Christopher Papai who survives. Also surviving are her mother, Marie; sons, Kegan Papai and Coty Zimmerman; and brothers, Jeffrey Stone, and Michael Reed. She is preceded in death by her brother, William Stone.

Christine had a strong work background and a love of creating and making people smile. She outworked and outhustled all of her coworkers. She shined in her Twenties in her career at Kroger 938 on Merrifield Ave. in Mishawaka, IN. She created a massive and valuable floral section that was barely carved out of Produce when she first started the position, with many repeat customers who would glow when they spoke of her talent. With each step she took in her career at Kroger she was successful, and her associates were inspired. She retired as a stay-at-home Mom and raised two beautiful sons. She mentored many people in her lifetime and became an inspiration to so many in the recovery world.

The family will receive friends from 4 pm-5 pm on Friday November 10, 2023, at Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Stret, Mishawaka, IN. A funeral service will begin at 5 pm in the funeral home.
