Corey Lee Stein

Corey Lee Stein, 64, passed away on Monday, November 8, 2021. Corey was born in Kalamazoo, MI, on January 17, 1957, to Gerald H. and Patricia A. (Greenwood) Stein. On October 7, 1978, he married the former Catherine Hintz who survives. Also surviving are his children, Melinda Garcia, Joseph Stein and Timothy (Jennifer) Stein; grandchildren, KJ (Sarah), Meah and Jackson; great grandchild, Cooper James; sister, Cynthia; and brother, Kevin (Bernadine). He is preceded in death by a sister, Carrie; and his parents. 

The family thanks Tarah from Center for Hospice for his home health care and Kelsey for her help and support for Corey at home. We were blessed to have them in our home.

Corey worked as an electrician and was a member of the IBEW Local #153 and Texas #278.  He was an avid NASCAR fan and a proud Harley Davidson owner. He was a big kid at heart. Most of all he loved his family who meant everything to him.

Corey was a Boy Scout in his youth and attained the distinction of being a member of Order of the Arrow. He was a Sons of the American Revolution (inactive) member. He enjoyed music and laughter – his terrible puns and plays on words will be missed by many.

Corey never liked funerals – he would rather attend the wake and a celebration of life. We know that he would skip his own funeral if he could. So, we are honoring that and will have that celebration for him at a later date. If you receive an invite; by all means, join us. If you see the announcement; by all means – join us! Corey welcomed everyone to the table. Bring your best memory and help us celebrate his life.
