Daniel Daly Obituary

Daniel D. Daly

February 18, 1935-December 30, 2020

Mishawaka, IN-Daniel D. Daly, 85, passed away on Wednesday, December 30, 2020.  Danial was born on February 18, 1935, in Concordia, KS, to the late John W. and Leorean F. (Dykes) Daly.  On July 1, 1972, Daniel married the former Bernita Naegele in Topeka, KS.  Surviving Daniel is his wife, Bernita; daughters, Stephanie Daly and Christina (Adam) Howard; grandchildren, Breanna and Austin Howard.   Preceding Daniel in death are his parents and brother, Lawrence "Sonny" Daly.

Danny was a Korean War Veteran and took pride in all the years he served as a soldier for the US Marine Corps.  Hoorah Jarhead.  He became a member of the American Legion at the age of 35 and started working for the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Salina, KS during high school and later became past worthy president till he moved to Mishawaka, IN, where he remained a member until 2006.  He showed his loyalty by being a lifetime member of the VFW.

Raised as a Catholic, but during his time in the service, Danny wanted all his bases covered so got baptized as Baptist and Methodist and later became a member of the Presbyterian Church.

Danny was a truly dedicated family man.  There wasn’t a day he didn’t see or talk to his family.  He enjoyed many long road trips including trips to the zoo with his grandkids.  During those long trips, he loved to sing “On The Road Again”.  He enjoyed watching old westerns with his wife, especially the westerns with John Wayne.   Danny always enjoyed holidays and family dinners where he would tell stories and compare things from his time to the present time like cigarette and gas prices.

Danny made an impact on everyone he came in contact with including his many friends, fellow Marine brothers and even his new friends in Marine Riders Michiana.

You will be missed.  Till we see you again, careful, it’s slippery out and we love you more, more, more.
