David William Haywood, 49, of Mishawaka, Indiana, passed away the morning of Saturday, September 16, 2023. He was born on June 15, 1974, to Don and Diane (DeLaurelle) Haywood in Mishawaka.
David is survived by his parents; his brother, Dustin (Mary) Haywood; nieces, Gabriella and Grace; fiancée, Mary Utley as well as her daughters, Christina and Jessica Utley; granddaughter, Cora; and aunt and uncle, Nancy and Nat Baldoni. David also leaves behind an endless amount of friends he considered family.
The three most important things in David’s life were his mother, Grandmother MeMe, and the Chicago Cubs. He loved music and was a big Beatles fan. He was known for his witty sense of humor and always had a joke to share. He was a very kind and caring person and enjoyed having his friends over for gatherings at his man cave in his garage. He was known for having an open door policy for anyone who wanted to stop by.
The most important thing to remember about David is that he lived his life the way he wanted to and never changed, even at the end of his life.
David’s final wishes were granted before his passing, and he was at peace. He will now be taken care of by his grandparents who preceded him in death.
David was a wonderful fiancé, son, uncle, and friend, and he will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
A private memorial service for close friends and family will be held on Tuesday, September 19 at 5pm at Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W 8th St, Mishawaka, IN 46544 with an hour of visitation prior.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in David’s memory may be made to the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 7023, Merrifield, VA 22116-7023.
