David R Zimmerman

David R. Zimmerman passed away on Wednesday, September 28, 2022, at the age of 69. After several months of declining health, David died peacefully with his beloved wife, Tina and his children by his side.

David was born in Niles, MI on October 26, 1952. He did not have the opportunity for much formal education; however, his work ethic and desire to take care of his family led him to enlisting in the Army at age 19. He was stationed in Germany from 1972-1974.

David was preceded in death by the mother of his children, Cecilia, his parents, two brothers, and one sister. He is survived by his wife, Tina Edwards Zimmerman; children, Amy (Michael) Wolfe, David J. Zimmerman, Brian (Sarah) Zimmerman, Sara Zimmerman, and Stephanie (Charles) Sanner; stepchildren, Bryan (Cody) Phillips, Christina (Rob) Sutton, and Ryne Phillips; 18 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; and two siblings, Linda (Tom) Mason and Dale (Doreen) Zimmerman.

If you asked David, his greatest accomplishment was being a father. It is no surprise that he is remembered by friends, family, and co-workers as being kind-hearted, caring, and selfless.

A visitation for David is planned for Friday, September 30, 2022, from 12 pm to 2pm. The visitation will be at Hahn Funeral Home located at 505 8th Street, Mishawaka, IN. All are invited to attend. Services immediately following. The family will welcome visitors at the VFW located at 1307 Jefferson Blvd, Mishawaka, IN from 3:30pm to 6pm.
