Deanna Bokhart Obituary

           Deanna R. Bokhart, passed away peacefully on June 1, 2024, at Raclin House in Mishawaka, IN, at the age of 86. Born on April 4, 1938, to James Kite and Mary (Statler) Kite.  Deanna's life was a tapestry of love, family, and cherished memories. A lifelong resident of Mishawaka, Deanna's heart found its match when she married the love of her life, Richard E. "Dick" Bokhart, on May 21, 1955, in Mishawaka. Together, they embarked on a journey filled with laughter and adventure.

            Deanna’s unwavering dedication and compassionate spirit touched the lives of many as a Medical Administrative Assistant for the North Central Neurosurgery of South Bend, she played an indispensable role, bringing efficiency and warmth to her work every day. Her commitment to excellence and her genuine concern for patients and colleagues alike left an indelible mark on the hearts of all who knew her.

             Deanna was the proud and loving mother of Rhonda Arndt, Kelly (John) Butler, and Richard "Rick" (Elaine) Bokhart. Her role as a mother was one, she cherished deeply, instilling values of compassion and strength in her children. Deanna's joy multiplied with the arrival of her grandchildren, Gary Arndt, Katherine (Andrew) Page, Sheena (Adam) Schramski, and Heather McClead, and great grandchildren, Audrey, Aiden, Tori, Taylor, Clay, Lorelai, Olive, and Eleanor, who brought a new spark to her eyes and further warmth to her heart. Deanna is also survived by her siblings, James (Sue) Kite, Bret (Mary) Kite, Dennis (Marilyn) Kite, and Karen Frydryck, with whom she shared countless cherished memories and bonds of love that will endure beyond her physical presence. Her legacy of love and family will continue to inspire and comfort those who knew her.
            She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband “Dick” Bokhart,  and her son-in-law, Dwight Arndt.
            Deanna and Dick were an inseparable pair, and together they enjoyed a life full of shared interests and passions. They could often be found camping, bike riding and antiquing, was more than a hobby for Deanna; it was a treasure hunt that she embarked on with enthusiasm, always seeking that unique find. She wintered in Florida for many years of warmth and relaxation.

            Visitation will be held on Tuesday June 4, from 4:00 – 6:00 pm in Hahn Funeral Home 505 W. 8th Street Mishawaka Funeral Service will be held at 6:00 pm.
