Deborah Caldwell Martinez, beloved mother, partner, sister, and friend, passed away on March 4, 2025, in South Bend, Indiana, at the age of 56. Born on January 21, 1959, in Fayetteville, West Virginia, to loving parents Barry Caldwell Sr. and Diane (Winters)Caldwell, Deborah's kind spirit and joyful demeanor touched all those around her.
Deborah graduated from Elkhart High School before embarking on a career that showcased her hardworking nature and dedication to her community. She served with distinction as an office assistant and contributed her skills as a laborer for home construction with the Housing Authority.
Outside of her professional life, Deborah was an ardent lover of animals, especially cats. She appreciated the simple pleasures of life, often seen savoring her morning coffee from her treasured mug or getting lost in her favorite daytime drama shows. She delighted in spending quality time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, creating memories that will be cherished forever.
Deborah was preceded in death by her Parents Barry and Diane , as well as her step mom Elaine Caldwell.
An unwavering oldies music enthusiast, Deborah found peace and contentment while sitting on the porch with her late partner, Jesse Martinez, with whom she shared many years of love and happiness. She is survived by her four children, Dora Martinez Antonio C. Martinez, Jesse C. Martinez III, and Mario C. Martinez, her 14 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, her stepsisters Carla and Karen Caldwell, and her brother Barry J. (Robin M.) Caldwell Jr. of St. louis , MO, along with many nieces and nephews.
Deborah's luminous smile and gentle heart will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her. Her legacy of love, laughter, and kindness will continue to live on through her beloved family and friends.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, March 15, 2025, from 2:00 PM- 4:00 PM, in Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th street, Mishawaka, with a service immediately following at 4:00 PM, in Hahn Funeral Home.
