Delores Bontrager

     Delores “Dee” Bontrager, 91 passed away on March 5, 2025, at St. Joseph hospital, Mishawaka, IN.  She was born on October 28, 1933, to Alphonse and Hazel (Yawkey) DeVlieger.

     She is survived by her daughters, Denise Komon, and Deena (Randy) Squadroni.

     She is preceded by her parents, her sisters Maybelle McAfee, Vesta Hartzog, Evedine Daffron, husbands David Kubiak, Jack Bontrager and son Darwin Jr Collings.

     Dee spent over 15 years in Monterey, California. She loved the weather in CA, the ocean, sea otters and the beach. She moved back to Mishawaka, IN to be with family.

     She was an artist, liked doing crafts, and was an avid seamstress. She was highly creative taking a piece of material and without a pattern creating something special. She also loved gardening and looked forward to making her patio glow with flowers.

     She worked at Liberty Mutual for ten years. Her last employer was The City of Mishawaka working as school crossing guard. She cared for the children as if they were her own, Treating them to little gifts and candy for every holiday. She was kindhearted, willing to help people.

     Surviving are her three grandsons, Kenneth Watts, William Watts, Michael Watts. Three granddaughters, Jenill (Jeff) Howell, Holly Bussie, and Kelli Dipert (Jason Pawlicki).  Great Grandchildren are Dilan Watts, Aubryn Sorrel, Brianna Watts, Michael Watts Jr, Noha Watts, Shaylyn Bush, Raegan Freitag, Gavyn Fizer. Great Great Grandchildren are Elenor Watts, Michael Watts Jr, Raelyn Marshall.

     Visitation is scheduled for Friday, March 21st, 3:30-5:30 pm at Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W 8th St. Mishawaka. Service will be held at 5:30 pm in the Funeral Home.

     Contributions in memory of Dee can be made to Pet Refuge or Humane Society of Mishawaka.
