Dennis James Patterson

Dennis James Patterson, 62, passed away Thursday, November 27th. Dennis was born on June 20th, 1963, in South Bend to the late Robert and Genevieve (Curran) Patterson. Dennis is survived by his sister Laura Dorbin, brothers Robert Patterson Jr (Sandra) of Aiken, SC and Patrick Patterson (Mary) of South Bend, IN.  He was preceded in death by his sister Ann Louise Patterson and his brother in law, John Dorbin.

Dennis was a faithful paperboy for the South Bend Tribune for many years. As a young adult he spent time at Logan Center enjoying their day programs and social activities. He was a member of the Knights of the Columbus where he collected cans in order to donate the proceeds to the Gibault School.  In 2003, he moved to Goshen Men's which became his home and the staff and residents his family.  He also began attending day programming at ADEC. He was an avid Notre Dame fan and could always be found sporting one of his many Notre Dame sweatshirts.  He was friendly, helpful, and could catch you off guard with his wicked sense of humor.

Visitation will be from 9:30-10:30am on Wednesday, December 3rd, at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Mishawaka. A Mass of Christian Burial will immediately follow at 10:30 in Queen of Peace Catholic church. An entombment is to take place at Highland Cemetery, 2257 Portage Ave, South Bend.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the Gibault School, 6401 S US Hwy 41, Terre Haute, IN 47802.
