Derrick Young

Derrick J. Young, 50 years old, of Mishawaka, Indiana passed away the afternoon of Monday, August 26, 2024. He was born on August 25, 1974, in Des Moines, Iowa to the late George and Dixie (Lawton) Young.

He is survived by his siblings, Kim (Rich) Webb-Lancaster, Kristi Webb, and Timothy (Laurie) Young; his niece Andrea Webb; his nephew Brice Webb; his great-nephews Davonte Thompson and Khalil Smith; and his great-niece Khamil Smith.

Derrick was known for his spirituality, and he attended Christ Chapel for over 20 years. He was an animal lover and especially loved his dog Akita, who preceded him in death. Derrick was a wonderful brother, uncle, and friend, and he will be missed by all who knew him.

A private celebration of life will be held at a later date with the family. Hahn Funeral Home is assisting the family with cremation.
