Edwina V (Tucker) Bert

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of our sister, sister-in-law and aunt, Edwina “Eddie” Victoria Tucker Bert on March 24, 2021, in her sister’s Mishawaka home surrounded by her loving family.  Eddie was born to the union of Ruby Rachel Arnold and Edwin Tucker on September 16, 1933, in South Bend, IN.

Eddie is a 1952 graduate of John Adams High School in South Bend, IN.  The business courses she took in high school prepared her for her future career as a payroll clerk at the Studebaker Corporation and thereafter at Miles for the last 26 years. 

Eddie married the love of her life, Richard “Dick” Bert who preceded her in death.  Eddie is survived by her sister, Sharon (Clarence) Jester and a nephew, Mark Jester. 

Eddie loved her pet dogs throughout her lifetime, Dutch, Kashi, Ginger, Tikkia, and Zeus, her current pet who has brought her so much joy during the last 5 years.  Since her retirement, she and her sister, Sharon, plus a mutual friend, Billie, continued to walk for pleasure a few hours a week and then lunch together where they discussed their lives. The family spent every holiday together and enjoyed sharing holiday meals.  Eddie was a real homebody.  She would rather stay home with her pets than travel with her family.  It was at home that she enjoyed spending time in her yard and planting flowers.

A private family service will be held.  Hahn Funeral Home has been entrusted with handling the arrangements.  Eddie will be laid to rest in Fairview Cemetery beside her husband.
