Eleanor “Ellie” J. Manuel, of Mishawaka, Indiana, was born on April 29, 1941, to the late Joseph and Irene Witkowski, and passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of her family.
Ellie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ronald Manuel, and her cherished son, Patrick Manuel. She was also welcomed into heaven by her grandson Joseph Manuel.
She is survived by her daughters, Sheila Dill (James Dill) and Christine Szalewski (Stephen Szalewski). Ellie was a proud and devoted grandmother to Christan Manuel; Calib Dill; Grant Szalewski; Gabrielle Hernandez; Shae Szalewski; and Corey Dill. Her legacy continues through her great-grandchildren: Lincoln and Cooper Manuel; Lainey Dill; Tate Szalewski; Oliver and Cohen Hernandez; and Carter and Cole Dill.
Ellie was known for her warm heart, her quick wit, and her unwavering devotion to her family. She loved nothing more than cheering on the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, a passion she passed down through generations. Her spirit, strength, and the joy she brought to those around her will be remembered forever.
Ellie’s family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to StoryPoint Memory Care and Heart to Heart Hospice for the exceptional compassion, care, and support they provided during her final journey.
Her family takes comfort in knowing she is reunited with those she loved and missed so deeply.
A visitation will take place on Friday, December 12, 2025, from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM in Han Funeral Home, located at 505 W 8th St., Mishawaka, IN 46544. A funeral service to honor Ellie’s life will begin on Friday, December 12, 2025, at 1:00 PM, also in the funeral home.
