Ella Mae (Owens) Forsythe

Ella Mae Forsythe, 102, of Mishawaka passed away on January 16, 2025. Ella Mae was born to the late John H. and Hazel (Sams) Owens on August 20, 1922, in Indianola, IN. On December 1, 1940, she married James W. Forsythe who preceded her in death on November 7, 2016. She was also preceded in death by her son, Barry Forsythe; her parents and her siblings, Charles Owens and Ready Stephens.
Ella Mae is survived by her son, Craig Forsythe of Mishawaka; a daughter-in-law, Barbara Forsythe of South Bend; three grandchildren, Jim Forsythe, Jeff Forsythe and Steven Forsythe; six great grandchildren, Stephanie, Kimberly, Jacob, Sam, Thomas and Christian and one great great-grandchild.
Ella Mae loved working on her home and became very proficient at hanging wallpaper during her renovations and decorating. She took pride in her space looking nice. Ella Mae also enjoyed visiting with her grand-pup, “Maggie,” in recent years.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 26th, in Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street, Mishawaka from 2-3PM. The funeral service will follow immediately at 3PM in the funeral home.
