            Elsie L. De Meulenaere, 100, passed away on Thursday, May 2, 2024, in Mishawaka.

            Elsie was born on March 22, 1924, in Mishawaka to Gentiel and Zullma (Pozzola) Lannoo. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers, Raymond and George Lannoo; and sister-in-law, Donna Lannoo, and a sister, Madeline “Marge” Kristel; brother-in-law, George Kristel.

            On June 29, 1946, as Elsie Lannoo, she married Raymond De Meulenaere. He preceded her in death on April 20, 2001. Surviving are sons, Joseph (Linda) De Meulenaere and John (Keely) De Meulenaere; grandchildren, Amber (Bill) Bush, Jesseka, Mathew, Javis (Beth)De Meulenaere. Bryan and Erin Shaul, Kandice (Matt)Vickery, Racheal Parker; great grandchildren, Elliot Bush, Jensen Bush, Boden Bush, Jake De Meulenaere and Grant De Meulenaere, Luna Norman, Harlie Norman, Aiden Parker, Austin Vickery, Bastian Vickery; and sister-in-law, Shirley Lannoo.

            At the time of her death Elsie was the oldest charter member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church, she was very active at church. She was also a member of the Rosary Society and a member of the busy Widows Group. She worked at Shoppers Fair in South Bend for years. In her retirement she enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, bowling, playing Euchre, traveling, and going to the casino.

            Visitation will be on Monday, May 6 from 5 to 7 p.m., in Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street, Mishawaka. A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Tuesday, May 7 at 11 a.m., with visitation one hour prior, in Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Mishawaka. Entombment will follow at Fairview Cemetery.

            Memorial contributions may be made in Elise’s name to Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 4508 Vistula Road, Mishawaka IN 46544.
