Frederick Daniel "Danny" Swingendorf passed away at his home in Seattle Washington on May 9, 2025. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness, creativity, and quiet strength. Born to Frederick P. Swingendorf and Sharon A. (DeCocker) Swingendorf on December 23, 1967, Dan was a constant source of light and laughter to those who knew him. He will be deeply missed by his siblings Christine M., Michael P., Matthew (Denise) W., and Susan M, and his nieces and nephews, Alexis, Austin, Kamryn, and Megan. Dan was preceded in death by his mother Sharon.
A proud graduate of Adams High School in 1986, Dan pursued his passion for design at Ball State University, where he earned his degree in architecture after five and a half-dedicated years. In 1999, he moved to Seattle, where he further honed his craft at two respected architectural firms.
Dan's love for his family was matched only by his dedication to his work and the peaceful joy he found in tending to his koi pond, his yard, and maintaining his home. Known for his warm heart and gentle nature, Dan was someone of whom no one ever spoke an unkind word. He left an impression of sincerity and goodness wherever he went. Truly, he had no enemies—only friends, admirers, and loved ones whose lives were better for having known him.
Dan was the kind of person who made the world a softer, kinder place, simply by being in it. His memory will be cherished always.
