Grant Franklyn Ruth, aged 88, of Mishawaka, Indiana, passed away peacefully on January 5, 2025. He was born to the late Robert and Mildred (Carnahan) Ruth on May 6, 1936, in McKeesport, Pennsylvania. Grant's life was rich with love and accomplishment, marked by his marriage to his beloved wife, Linda (Chavis) Ruth, on December 14, 1963. For 61 years, he loved being Linda's "chef," creating delicious meals for her with a passion that marked their home. Their marriage was a testament to his unwavering love and dedication.
A patriarch in every sense, he leaves behind a legacy through his devoted sons, Patrick (Christienne) Ruth and Brandon (Michelle) Ruth, and his cherished grandchildren, Taylor Plunkette, Paige Ruth, Gavin Ruth, and Payton Ruth. He also leaves behind his dearly loved nieces and nephew, Kathryn A. Smith, Karen R Wesolek, and Keith L. Chavis.
A man of many talents, Grant was an avid bowler for 40 years, where he built friendships and shared many memorable moments. He was also a proud supporter of his favorite teams—Notre Dame and the Pittsburgh Steelers—often cheering them on with fervor.
Grant was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings, Susan Rollins, Robert Ruth, and Dean Ruth.
Throughout his life, Grant was a pillar of strength and wisdom for both his family and the many lives he touched. His guiding hand and kind spirit will be profoundly missed by all who knew him.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 10, 2025, from 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM, in Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W 8th Street, Mishawaka. Funeral services will follow in the Funeral Home at 7:00 PM. A private Inurnment will take place in Fairview Cemetery.
