Greg Kajzer

     Greg Kajzer, 79, of Mishawaka, Indiana, passed away peacefully on July 29, 2025. Born on October 2, 1945, in South Bend, Indiana, Greg was the son of the late Irwin F. Kajzer and Loretta (Ruszkowski) Kajzer.

     Greg graduated from Riley Highschool in 1962. He proudly went on to serve his country as a United States Marine and later dedicated his career to public service with the South Bend Police Department. His sense of duty and commitment to his community were constants throughout his life.

     On April 23, 1983, Greg married the love of his life, Tish (Harcz)Kajzer, and were happily married for 43 years. He was a devoted stepfather to Keith C. Morgan and a proud grandfather to Aspen Morgan.

     Greg is survived by his sisters, Gail (Kevin) McGrath and Gloria (Pat) Cottrell, as well as his extended family members, and his friends Edmond Hagedorn, Daniel Harcz, and Mike (Manel) Deeter.

     Greg was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother, Gerald Kajzer.

     Outside of his work and service, Greg found true joy in racing pigeons in the West End of Mishawaka. He spent many fulfilling hours training and caring for his birds. He also had three dogs who he affectionately called his “fur babies”. His deep love and respect for animals, especially his pigeons, was something he carried throughout his life.

     Greg will be remembered for his dedication to the things and people he loved. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

     A visitation will be held on Thursday, July 31, 2025, from 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM, in Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W 8th St. Mishawaka. Funeral service will take place Friday, August 1, 2025, also in Hahn Funeral Home at 11:00 AM, with a short visitation a half hour prior. A private graveside service will take place following the funeral service.
