Harry J. Tagliaferri, 94, of Mishawaka passed away on Sunday, September 19, 2021. Harry was born in Mishawaka on March 31, 1927, to the late Antonio and Sistine (Cittadine) Tagliaferri. On April 22, 1950, in St. Bavo Church, Harry married Gloria Niewolny who survives. Also surviving are his sons, Cary (Becky) Tagliaferri of Mishawaka, and Richard Tagliaferri of Monroe, Michigan; grandchildren, Karen Tagliaferri of South Bend, David Tagliaferri of Rheinfelden, Switzerland, Krista (Alex) Wolke of Littleton, Colorado, Tristan Tagliaferri of Alamogordo, New Mexico and Bret Tagliaferri of Dayton, Ohio; great grandchildren, Isabella Tagliaferri, Silas Wolke and Asher Wolke. Harry is preceded in death by his siblings, Joseph Tagliaferri and Helen Trippel.
Harry proudly served in the United States Army Air Corps. He worked as a Foreman at Dodge Mfg. for over 28 years until his retirement in 1982. He was a member of St. Bavo Parish, Dodge Quarter Century Club, Dodge Management Club, AARP, and the Eagles. He was a 1944 graduate of Mishawaka High School, and active in the alumni association. An avid sports fan, Harry was active in City League softball, umpiring, and bowling. He was a card-carrying member of the Die-hard Cubs fan club.
Visitation will be 3-7 pm on Thursday, September 23rd at Hahn Funeral Home in Mishawaka with a rosary to be recited at 6:00 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 am, Friday, September 24th at St. Bavo Catholic Church in Mishawaka. Harry will be laid to rest in St. Joseph Memorial Park in Granger with military rites by the VFW/American Legion burial squad.
