James "Jim" Dutoi

            James "Jim" Dutoi, 88, of Granger, Indiana, passed away peacefully on August 23, 2024. Jim was born on March 26, 1936, in Mishawaka, Indiana, as the son of late Frank and Eva (Gunn) Dutoi.

            Jim proudly served his country in the United States Army. He returned home to Mishawaka and went to work at Uniroyal Corp in Mishawaka as a Pipefitter for 36 years. After his retirement there he was the head custodian for St. Bavo’s Catholic Church. Jim was a member of several clubs, including DeAmicis, the BK Club, the Mishawaka Euchre Club, and the Eagles.

            On July 7, 1981, Jim married Carolyn Warren in a ceremony held in Jeffersonville, Indiana. After his retirement Jim and Carolyn spent many years in Port Isabel Texas before returning to Mishawaka.

            Jim is survived by wife Carolyn, his son, Ronald (Lisa) Dutoi, his sister Carolyn Wilson, his brother Richard Dutoi, and his devoted nephews Frank, Richard, Chad, Keith, Scott, and Dan, as well as numerous great-nieces and great-nephews whose lives he touched deeply.         

            Jim was preceded in death by both his parents, his brother-in-law Jerry, and sister-in-law Sharron.

            A visitation will be held on Tuesday August 27, 2024, from 3:00 PM – 7:00 PM, In Hahn Funeral Home 505 W. 8th Street Mishawaka. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday August 28, 2024, at 12:00 PM, In Hahn Funeral Home, with Reverend Terry Fisher officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park.
