James Denver “Jimmy” Rich Jr., 75, of Mishawaka, Indiana, passed away peacefully, on September 7, 2025. Born on January 24, 1950, in Mishawaka to James Rich Sr. and Erma (Musary) Rich, both of whom preceded him in death as well as his brother John.
On August 4, 1979, he married Carolyn (Wallace) Rich. Together, they shared a deep bond and built a beautiful life, including the blessing of their daughter, Mary Rich. James also held a special place in his heart for his “granddog,” Penny, who was always nearby and brought him so much happiness.
James grew up in a large family; he was one of eight children. He is survived by his siblings; Candy, Doris, Sandy, Mary, Terry, and Tom, with whom he shared many childhood memories and lifelong connections.
He was known for his love of tinkering in the garage, always working on a project or fixing something with quiet determination. A dedicated Green Bay Packers fan, James rarely missed a game and had a deep love for the sport. He also enjoyed watching wrestling.
James spent his final years at Brickyard Healthcare, where he was cared for with kindness and compassion. In honor of his life, donations can be made to the St. Joseph County Humane Society, a cause dear to his heart, and to the Activities Fund at Brickyard Healthcare.
In keeping with James’ wishes, there will be no formal service held at this time.
