Jody J. Emmons, 61, of South Bend, Indiana, passed away on June 24, 2025. He was born in South Bend on July 7, 1963, to Cora Emmons and the late James Emmons and lived his life with energy, purpose, and a deep love for family and racing.
Jody proudly served in the United States Army, where he developed a strong sense of discipline, loyalty, and teamwork—values that stayed with him throughout his life.
He was preceded in death by his father, James C. Emmons. Jody is survived by his loving wife, Tammara "Tammy" (Key) Emmons; his mother, Cora Lee (Bowder) Emmons; his children, Jodi Neeley and Jeremy Emmons; and his grandchildren, Colbie, Leneigha, and Bryce all of whom brought him great pride and joy.
Jody had a lifelong passion for car racing. Whether in the garage or at the track, he was known for his mechanical skill, dedication, and love of the sport. He spent countless weekends as part of pit crews, helping himself and others chase checkered flags and living out a dream of speed and teamwork.
He was also a loyal friend, a loving husband and father, and someone who could always be counted on. His presence, humor, and generosity will be missed by all who knew him. After a life filled with service, love, and passion, Jody has crossed his last finish line.
No formal services will be held at this time. Hahn Funeral Home has been entrusted with the final arrangements and extends their deepest sympathies to the Emmons family.
