John Batiz Jr.

     John Batiz Jr., aged 68, of South Bend, Indiana, passed away peacefully on April 5, 2025, in nearby Mishawaka. Born on March 28, 1957, to the late John Batiz Sr. and Dorothy (Pounds) Batiz, John grew up in a family rich with love and laughter.

     He is survived by his children, Teegan Swisher, Jessica Batiz, and Amanda Batiz, as well as his adored eight grandchildren. John is also leaving behind his dear siblings Susan Jackson, Lisa Batiz, Melissa Pace, and Donald Batiz, John's legacy is one of family and brotherhood.

     John was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved daughter Lindsy Batiz.

     For many years, John dedicated his skills to Smurfit-Stone, where he worked as maintenance.  His passion for the outdoors was evident in his love for fishing, hunting, and target shooting, John was a respected member of the Edwardsburg Conservation Club. John's life was a testament to the simple pleasures, and the joy he found in nature and community will endure in memories cherished by friends and family alike.

     In keeping with Johns wishes, no formal services will be held at this time. Hahn Funeral Home has been entrusted to handle the final arrangements.
