John Robert Voor

    John Robert Voor, 64, passed away peacefully in his sleep on January 30, 2026, in South Bend, Indiana. Born on August 28, 1961, in the same city he called home throughout his life, John left behind a legacy of warmth, wit, and unwavering loyalty.

    A proud graduate of Marian High School in 1980, John continued his academic journey at Indiana University, earning his degree in 1984. He then completed his J.D. (Juris Doctorate) at Valparaiso University Law School. During these formative years, John forged lifelong friendships and created cherished memories that remained close to his heart.

    John built a career in the insurance industry where his natural charisma and gift for connection made him a trusted colleague and friend to many. Known for never meeting a stranger, he brought humor and intelligence into every room he entered. His remarkable memory for movies, music, and stories often serves as the centerpiece to lively conversations with friends and family alike.

    John was preceded in death by his infant son, John R. Voor Jr., and his father William Edwards Voor Jr, and Richard Rosenthal. He is survived by his mother, Charlotte Voor Rosenthal: former spouse Donna Voor; daughter Charlotte Faye Voor (Alex Berta), and son Matthew John Voor; Siblings William Voor III, David Voor (Julie), and Carol Voor Graham (Beau), as well as many nieces and nephews who will dearly miss him.

    John’s competitive spirit shone through in every game of golf, tennis, ping pong, or euchre he played – always with passion and a drive to win. A gifted orator and writer, he had a unique ability to craft heartfelt speeches, poems, and letters that touched those around him deeply. His creativity was matched only by his fierce loyalty to those he loved.

    Above all else, John cherished his family and held fast to his faith. His presence brought laughter and light into the lives of many. May John’s memory bring comfort to all who knew him and continue to inspire those whose lives he touched.

    A visitation will be held on Thursday, February 5, 2026, from 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM, in Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W 8th Street, Mishawaka. A vigil service will be held at 6:00 PM, in the funeral home. A funeral service will be held on February 6, 2026, at 10:30 AM, in Saint Pius X Catholic Church, 52553 N Fir Rd, Granger, with a visitation one hour prior in the church.  A burial for John will be at a later date.
