Granger, IN-Julius John Farkas, 85, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Friday, June 4, 2021. He was born in South Bend on April 25, 1936 to the late Julius A. & Gertrude (Robaska) Farkas. On November 24, 1955, in St. Bavo Church, Julius married the former Lois Baumgartner who survives. Also surviving are his children, Brenda (Clarence) Ebersole of Brownsburg, IN and David L. Farkas of Granger, IN; 4 grandchildren, Matt Ebersole, Michelle Willem, Claire Smith, and Meredith Fitzpatrick; 5 great-grandchildren, Ellie Ebersole, Olivia Willem, Ethan Willem, Brooks Smith, and Jack Fitzpatrick; and a brother, David D. Farkas of South Bend.
Julius was a self-employed tool and die designer who owned Central Design Service in Mishawaka for many years. He was highly regarded by his colleagues and clients for his industry knowledge and service. Known for his great sense of humor and ability to make friends with everyone he met, he will be missed by many.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to all the ICU nurses and staff at Memorial Hospital for the special care they gave Julius during his final days. In addition, they would like to personally thank nurse, Javier for his unprecedented kindness during Julius’s final hours.
The family will be holding a private memorial service. Hahn Funeral Home has been entrusted with handling the arrangements.
