Karen Elaine (Mittleman) Neibar passed away peacefully at the age of 55 on Sunday, October 3, 2021. She was born on November 10, 1965, to Edwin and Jane Mittleman.
Karen was a lifelong resident of Michiana. She graduated from Marian High School in 1985. Karen was a former employee of Martin’s and Home Instead. Her love of children led her to open h er own in-home daycare business. She was a big fan of Notre Dame and the Chicago Cubs. As a 12 year member of Camefire, she was a recipient of their highest award, the Wohelo Award. Karen could easily light up a room with her quick wit and infectious laughter. She will be dearly missed by her dog and best friend, Dozer.
Karen is survived by her husband, David Neibar; her mother, Jane Mittleman; brother, Michael (Debbie) Mittleman; sister, Susan Malcom; sister-in-law, Chris (Chad) Darnold; and 2 stepdaughters, Ashlee and Ava. She was very close to her nieces and nephews, Melissa Jackson, Nathan Mittleman, Rebecca Ruhlman, Breanna Shaumber and Cole Darnold; 3 great-nephews, Robbie, Malcolm and James Jackson. Preceding her in death is her father, Edwin Mittleman; and brother-in-law, Joseph Malcom.
Visitation will be 5 pm-7 pm on Wednesday, October 6, 2021, at Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street, Mishawaka, IN 46544. Funeral service will be at 11 am, Thursday, October 7, 2021, at the funeral home. Cremation will follow.
