Kathy L. Miller

   Kathy L. Miller, 54, passed away peacefully on December 24, 2025, at home in Osceola, IN, surrounded by the love and warmth of her closest relatives. Born on February 1, 1971, in South Bend, IN to the late John Sr. and Rebecca (Gulyas) Miller Kathy grew up in the Michiana area. She was a proud graduate of Ivy Tech, where she honed the skills that would serve her well in her long-standing career as a transcriptionist for OSMC. Her dedication to her work was matched only by her commitment to living a life full of laughter and love.

   Family was the cornerstone of Kathy's world. She is survived by her loving daughter, Courtney Green; her cherished grandchildren, Cooper, Rhyatt, and Wesson; her fur babies, Sunny and Bella, who were her constant companions and the recipients of her endless affection; Kathy's dear friend, Jaime Wrigley, as well as many close friends and extended family members. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Gene Smeltzer, her parents, John Sr. and Rebecca Miller, and her brother, John Miller Jr.

   Kathy will be remembered for her infectious laugh that brought so many people in her life joy. An avid lover of the beach and ocean, Kathy found solace and joy in the rhythm of the waves and the sight of sea turtles gliding through the water. Kathy also had a passion for spoiling her dogs, ensuring that they lived lives as pampered and full of love as the lives of her human family members. Above all, Kathy's greatest joy was spending time with her beloved grandchildren. Each moment with them was treasured, and she instilled in them the values of kindness, humor, and a zest for life that she embodied so fully. Her memory will be cherished, and her presence sorely missed, as we celebrate a life truly well-lived.

   Kathy’s family would like to give a special thank you to Jaime, for attending all of her appointments, procedures, and legal meetings with her, as well as the family members and close friends who helped Courtney care for Kathy while in Hospice care. 

   A Celebration of Kathy’s Life will be held from 2-6pm on January 24, 2026 in the BK Club, 721 S West St, Mishawaka, IN 46544. Hahn Funeral Home has been entrusted to assist the family with arrangements.
