Kathy L. Moore, 77, passed away peacefully on March 28, 2025. Kathy was born on November 10, 1947, in Chicago, IL, to the late Ralph B. and Gladys L. Ray. She was raised on the Northwest Side and graduated in 1966 from Carl Schurz High School, a milestone that marked the beginning of her lifelong pursuit of knowledge and personal growth.
Kathy began her career as an industrial X-ray technician, working for Magnetic Inspection. She later joined Allied, both of which were based in the Chicago suburbs. Kathy took great pride in her work, which showed her meticulous nature and her commitment to excellence. After becoming disabled, Kathy's determination to continue learning led her to enroll in classes at Wright College in Chicago. She eventually moved to Mishawaka, IN, in May 1981, where she continued her education at Indiana University South Bend, further expanding her horizons and embracing new challenges.
Kathy's life took another beautiful turn when she met her husband, David Moore. The couple married on July 4, 1990, in a small, intimate ceremony, in Las Vegas, NV.
Kathy was preceded in death by her parents, her younger brother Patrick S. Ray, and her aunt Helen D. Jarmacz. She is survived by her devoted husband, David, her sister Michelle B. (Robert) Kroman, and several nieces and nephews: Robert II and Edward Kroman, Jessica (Christiaan)Booysen, Samantha (Bill), Jordan (Blaze), and Kaitlin (Jeremy) Ray. Kathy was also a beloved great-aunt to Tayla, Lucas, Alexander, Quintin Ray, Lara Kroman, and Lilah Booysen.
A private inurnment will be held, and a celebration of life will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the animal rescue organization of your choice, St. Joseph Hospice, or the American Heart or Lung Associations.
