Kevin A. Finley, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, was born on September 12, 1951, to Alben and Emma (Ceaman) Finley in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Kevin passed away peacefully on March 23, 2025, in Indianapolis, Indiana, at the age of 73, after a life well-lived. Kevin was known for always wearing a ball cap (Steelers or Penguins) and handing out Life Savers.
Kevin was the beloved husband of Andrea (Pearson) Finley, whom he married on August 11, 1973. Together, they built a life filled with shared dreams, mutual respect, and a deep partnership that spanned more than five decades. Their bond was a cornerstone of Kevin's life, and he often spoke of the love and support Andrea brought into his world.
Kevin's pride and joy were his son, Michael, and his five grandchildren, Michael, Jr, Clarissa, Hunter, Emmarie and Mackenzie, who brought him immeasurable happiness. Known as Grandpa and Pap Pap, he cherished every moment with them.
Kevin’s nurturing spirit extended beyond his immediate family. He was the loving brother to his sister, Nadine (Jeff) Plant, and uncle to his niece, Jocelyn Moore, and his nephew, Bryce Plant.
In his professional life, Kevin was the proud owner of Food Safety Scouts of Mishawaka. With his deep commitment to public health and safety, he devoted much of his career to ensuring the well-being of his community. As a coworker wrote, "He taught us a lot, and not just about food safety. He will be remembered for many years."
Kevin was also an avid sports fan, and his heart belonged to the Pittsburgh Steelers. A proud native of Pittsburgh, his love for the Steelers was a defining part of his personality. In addition to his work and personal life, Kevin was deeply involved in his community. He was an active member of the Mishawaka Lions Club, where he spent many years contributing his time and energy to service projects and local initiatives. He was also heavily involved with local Boy Scout groups and the Council for many years.
He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, colleagues, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. His memory will be a guiding light for those who loved him, and his impact on the world will never be forgotten.
