Lawrence (Larry) Campbell, 91, of Mishawaka passed away at home on Monday, September 19, 2022. He was a husband, father and grandfather and will be greatly missed. He was born in Hazel Green, AL on June 1, 1931, to the late James and Effie Campbell. He grew up in Tennessee and moved to South Bend, IN in 1951 where he found the love of his life, Maxine Lupa. They married on November 24, 1951 and were married for 71 years. Much of his career was spent as a Crane Operator, Tool & Die and Welder at Wheelabrator before he retired from Laidig. Before and in his retirement, he enjoyed restoring cars and trucks, watching Western films and plays, gardening and bird watching. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Maxine; daughter, Karen (Michael Scott) Graddy; sons, Larry (Pat) Campbell and Gary Lawrence; and 2 grandchildren, Stephanie and Douglas Campbell. He is preceded in death by his parents; son, David Campbell; and siblings, Edmond, John, Henry, Frank, Irene, Inez and Myrtice.
Per his wishes there will be no formal services and cremation has taken place. Hahn Funeral Home has been entrusted with handling the final arrangements.
