Linda Gizzi Obituary

Linda Lou Gizzi, a loving wife, mother and grandmother, was called home on October 25, 2025, after a lengthy illness. Born on January 16, 1939, in Mount Pleasant, Pennsylvania, Linda's life was marked by her unwavering faith, her dedication to her family, and her passion for life's simple joys.

Linda's journey began as the cherished daughter of her loving parents Ernest and Ernestine (Ward) Clausner in the small town of Mount Pleasant Pennsylvania. Her early years were filled with the warmth of close-knit community life, which shaped her into the compassionate person she remained throughout her life. Linda graduated from Ramsay High School in 1957. She was a majorette and prom queen.  She lived her life as a selfless, compassionate soul.

With a heart full of dreams, Linda ventured into the world, where she met and married the love of her life, Emilio (Guy) Gizzi in 1960. Together, they built a life rich in love and laughter, blessed with children who would carry on their legacy of kindness. Though her beloved husband Guy, daughter Laura Lynn, granddaughter Hope, granddaughter Mary Claire, preceded her in passing, Linda's love for them never wavered.

Linda's nurturing spirit extended beyond her own family to her work at Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center in Patient Accounts and later at Southfield Village where she loved working and visiting with the elderly. Her colleagues and those she served will remember her for her thoughtful nature and her ability to bring a sense of warmth and compassion to any situation.

A devout Catholic, she attended St Matthew Cathedral in South Bend, and then Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Geist.  Linda found strength and solace in her faith. It was this faith that guided her through life's challenges and inspired her to serve others with a gentle and giving heart. She was an active member of her church community, where she lived out her beliefs through acts of service and kindness.

Linda's interests were as varied as they were enriching. She had a talent for creating beauty, whether it was through her sewing, crafts, or her stunning flower gardens that reflected her inner grace. Her hands were rarely still, as she found joy in baking, cake decorating, sewing, and crafts. Always eager to share her skills, Linda was a cherished room mother at school for all three of her children, imparting wisdom and joy in equal measure.

Volunteering was not just an activity for Linda; it was a way of life. She dedicated countless hours to helping others, whether feeding the birds and squirrels or lending her time to those in need. Her selflessness was a testament to her loving nature, and her thoughtful gestures brought light to the lives of many.

Linda's legacy is carried on by her loving family:  two brothers, Jordan Clausner and Ernest (Diane) Clausner, both of Pennsylvania. A daughter, Beth (Keith) Fulks of Pendleton Indiana, son Tim (Peggy) Gizzi of South Bend, Indiana. She had eight grandchildren, Adam (Stephanie) Fulks, Cory (Tess) Gizzi, Rocky (Ashley) Gizzi, Lindsay Gizzi, Enzo Gizzi, Tazio Gizzi, Audreyana Gizzi, and Mia Gizzi. She also was blessed with seven great grandchildren, Raelynn, Taylor, Giada, Cecilia Rose, Giovanni, Sophia and Olivia. Each of them reflects a facet of Linda's remarkable spirit, from her generosity to her unwavering kindness.

As we remember Linda Lou Gizzi, we celebrate a life lived with purpose and love. She was the embodiment of a selfless, loving, and thoughtful soul. Her memory will remain a guiding light to all who were blessed to know her. Linda's life was a testament to the beauty of a heart given fully to family, faith, and community. Though she has passed from this world, her spirit continues to inspire us to live each day with compassion and grace.
