Lorraine Notteboom

     Lorraine A Notteboom, a beacon of enduring grace and joy, passed away peacefully on January 7, 2025, at the age of 90. Born on March 28, 1934, in South Bend, Indiana, she grew up in a loving family with her parents Edward Zmudzinski and Minnie Banaszak. On May 28, 1955, in Our Lady of Hungry Catholic Church South Bend she married Gerald “Jerry” Notteboom he preceded her in death on June 21, 1999. A beloved mother, she leaves behind her daughter, Christine (Michael) Markham, and son, Scott (Diane) Notteboom. She reveled in the laughter of her grandchildren, Kelli and Adam (Emily) Notteboom, and cherished moments with her great-grandchild, Tucker Notteboom.

     Lorraine was a dedicated sister to Leona McGuire and Donna Bressler, and now will be reunited in heaven with her late siblings, Betty Lubelski, Bob Zmudzinski, and Carol Sooter.

     Lorraine's unwavering work ethic shone brightly during her 25-year tenure as a cosmetic associate at Walgreens. She worked at Goldblatt’s, Value House and Winey’s Dress shop for another 25 years in retail before her well-deserved retirement from Walgreens. Retirement left her more time to tend to her beloved roses and other flowers she proudly cultivated. She was a faithful member of St. Joseph Catholic Church Mishawaka. Her magnetic presence and compassionate spirit left an indelible mark on all those who had the pleasure of walking alongside her on her remarkable journey through life. She will be profoundly missed and cherished in memory by her family, friends, and all who knew her.

     Visitation will be held on Tuesday January 14, 2025, in Hahn Funeral Home 505 W. 8th Street Mishawaka, from 5:00 – 7:00 PM. A Rosary will take place at 5:00 PM in the Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Wednesday January 15, 2025 at 10:00 AM,  in St. Joseph Catholic Church Mishawaka with Fr Chris Lapp officiating.  Burial will follow in Chapel Memorial Gardens Osceola. The Family requests in lieu of flowers that memorial contributions be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church 220 W. 4th Street Mishawaka, IN 46544.
