Margaret Kronewitter Obituary

Margaret Lucille (Staples) Kronewitter, a valued member of her community and a source of joy for her family, passed away peacefully on April 12, 2025, in Mishawaka, Indiana, after a life filled with love and laughter. Born on February 8, 1943, in Mount Vernon, Kentucky, to the late Noah E. and Verda S. (Jackson) Staples, Margaret's warmth and kindness touched the lives of everyone fortunate enough to know her.

Margaret will be deeply missed by her devoted children, Kurt, Doug (Jackie), and Becky (Hamp Hill) Kronewitter, as well as her cherished grandchildren, Nathan Ryan, Jessica Lynn, and Ashlyn Maya Kronewitter. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy, and she took immense delight in every moment spent with them. She was the heart and soul of her family, leaving behind a legacy of love and kindness. Margaret also leaves behind a lifetime of treasured memories for her surviving siblings: Delores (Ray) Bruning, Carolyn Kozuch, and Ray Staples.

Margaret was preceded in death by her son, Craig Allen Kronewitter, and several beloved siblings—Clinton, Glen, Larry, Kathleen, Rondal, and Eva Staples, and Jewel Bennett. She now joins them in eternal peace.

Margaret was a proud alumna of Mishawaka High School. Before retiring, she worked for Comcast, where she was well respected by her coworkers. Known for her amazing cooking abilities, especially her famous potato salad, she was always a hit at gatherings, with friends and family eagerly looking forward to it. Margaret had a deep love for her country and a fondness for the simple pleasures in life, especially Luigi’s Pizza and a glass of cranberry wine. She was also a big fan of watching her grandchildren’s sporting events or school functions. Summers at the lake were among her happiest times, surrounded by family, sharing stories, and making cherished memories.

Margaret's life was a valuable gift to all who knew her, and her spirit will continue to inspire those she has left behind. The family expresses their heartfelt gratitude to the medical professionals at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center and Center for Hospice Care for their exceptional care, compassion, and dedication. Memorial contributions can be made to Hospice Foundation, 501 Comfort Place, Mishawaka, IN 46545.

A Celebration of Life for Margaret will be held at a later date. Hahn Funeral Home has been entrusted with handling the final arrangements.
