Margaret Thornberg

     Margaret Jean Thornberg, 97, of Mishawaka passed away on Sunday, December 1, 2024, at Raclin House Center for Hospice Mishawaka.

     Margaret was born on July 24, 1927, in Gary, IN as the daughter of Oscar and Margaret (Brissey) Jackson. She was preceded in death by her parents and a twin sister, Helen Joan Dutcher.

     On June 14, 1958, in Holy Cross Catholic Church, South Bend she married Larry Thornberg, he preceded her in death on October 12, 1986. For many years she was a stay at home “Mom”, wife and grandmother, after her children were raised, she went to work for Valley Bank in Mishawaka as a bookkeeper until she retired.

     Margaret is survived by her children, Patricia Thornberg (Carol Clark), Carol Beagles, Gail Pursell and Todd (Jill) Thornberg, eleven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. 

     The family will receive friends on Saturday, December 7, 2024, in St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 616 Lincoln Way East, Mishawaka one hour prior to the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Southlawn Cemetery South Bend.
