Mishawaka - Marjorie E. Zeltwanger, 83, passed away at home from complications from ALS on Thursday, July 22, 2021. Marjorie was born in Tremont, IL, on November 15, 1937, to the late Elmer and Lena (Pflederer) Sauder.
Marge was a member of Granger Community Church, Christian Women’s Club, Bible Study Fellowship and Home Management Resources. She was a fun loving, outgoing person and made friends easily. At Granger Community Church, Marge served as a greeter, on the hospital visitation and newborn baby welcome teams. She made it her life’s goal to point people to Jesus, the Author and Finisher of her faith.
Mishawaka - Harold E. Zeltwanger, 86, passed away at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center on Friday, July 30, 2021. Harold was born in Bremen, IN, on July 17, 1935, to the late Carl and Minnie (Laidig) Zeltwanger. Harold graduated from Manchester College and received his master’s degree from Western Michigan University.
Harold worked as the principal of Beiger School for the School City of Mishawaka for 26 years before retiring in 1986. He went on to continue working as a realtor with Prudential Realtors group. He was also an active member of Granger Community Church, serving in a variety of ministry capacities.
On June 21, 1959, Harold and Marjorie married and became inseparable, enjoying 62 years together and are now together in eternity. They were avid supporters of their grandchildren and rarely, if ever, missed any of their sporting events.
They are survived by their son, Todd (Marty) Zeltwanger; grandchildren, Jill Schmeltz (Tyler), Tom (Juli) Zeltwanger, Anna Zeltwanger and Joe Zeltwanger. Great grandchildren, Kent Schmeltz, Maya and Jax Zeltwanger. Also surviving are Marjorie’s siblings, Ila (Marvin) Pfister and Jerry (Peg) Sauder; Harold’s sister, Mary Ann Witzig, along with multiple nieces and nephews. They are preceded in death by Harold’s brothers, Richard, Donald, and Earl Zeltwanger.
Visitation with the family will be held on Thursday, August 5, 2021, from 4-8pm at Community Gospel Church, 68893 State Road 331, Bremen, IN 46506. A Celebration of Marjorie and Harold’s lives will also be held at the church at 11:00am on Friday, August 6, 2021. Private family burial service will follow in the Bremen Cemetery. Contributions in Marge’s and Harold’s memory may be made to the Special Needs Ministry at Granger Community Church, Riley Children’s Hospital, Cultivate Food Rescue or to any charity of the donor’s choice.
