Mary Nelson

    Mary Nelson, 81 years old, passed away the morning of Friday, August 23rd, 2024, in Mishawaka, Indiana. She was born on May 30, 1943, in Marquette, to the late Frank and Bernadette St. Amour. On October 20th, 1962, in Hancock, Michigan, she married Carl Kenneth Nelson.

    She was  preceded by her husband Carl, her parents, her brother Francis St. Amour, her four daughters, and other aunts and uncles.

    She leaves behind a legacy of warmth and kindness in her daughter, Mary Jo (James) Nelson, and her adored grandchildren, Dakota (Katjana)Lambert, Eryn (Miguel)Tumbleson, and Dylan Tumbleson.

    Mary worked as a store clerk at Giving Tree before her retirement. Throughout her life, her passions shone brightly. She loved spending time outdoors, especially near the water. She spent her free time knitting, reading, and embracing moments with her grandchildren. Her loyal dog, Heidi, was a beloved companion, sharing in many of her life’s simple joys.

    Mary's presence will be profoundly missed, yet her spirit will continue to inspire all who were fortunate to know her.

    According to Mary’s wishes, no formal services will be held at this time. Hahn Funeral Home is assisting the family with cremation.
