Mishawaka-Maymie Pride, 88, formerly of Mishawaka passed away surrounded by her children on September 16, 2020 at Miller Merry Manor in Warsaw, IN. Maymie was born to the late Bernard and Linnie (Dillingham) Key on January 12, 1932 in Nortonville, KY and moved to Mishawaka in the 4th grade. On September 30, 1950 she married Richard “Dick” Pride Sr. and they were married for 59 years. Maymie is preceded in death by her husband; son, Richard C. Jr.; granddaughter, Gabrielle Mihm and brothers, Delbert and Alton “Buddy” Key.
Maymie is survived by her children, Randy (Laura) Pride and Teresa (Thomas) Mihm; daughter-in-law, Roxanne Pride; grandchildren, Jessica (Chris) Hockemeyer, Ashley (Josh) Otis, Rachel Pride, Kayleigh (Clint) Boots, Erika (Stephen) Black, Liliana Mihm and Kaitlyn Mihm; great grandchildren, Kylah Hockemeyer, Charlotte Otis, Lucy Otis, Truett Pride and Nolan Boots and her sisters, Margaret McKinney, Aminell Harbin and Martha Dosmann.
Maymie was very loving and giving. She loved the holidays, laughing, having fun and spending time with family. She especially loved cooking for her family. She loved going on vacations to see the beauty of God’s creation, camping and painting, especially landscapes of churches and barns. She taught art at Twin City Baptist School. She was always willing to help others and volunteer at her church where she enjoyed reading her bible.
Visitation will be held on Monday, September 21, 2020 from 12:00pm-2:00pm at Hahn Funeral Home at 505 W. 8th Street, Mishawaka, IN. Funeral Service will be held at 2:00pm at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Mishawaka.
Due to current public health and safety standards for Covid-19, social distancing will be enforced and masks are required.
